Your deadlines
File your RBL EDF in five steps
Most exporters finish in under five minutes. Next month it's faster — your business and bank details are already filled.
Enter your business once
Name, address, PAN, GSTIN, IE code and exporter category. It's remembered on this device — or in your free account.
Add your bank
Pick your AD bank and branch and enter the AD code (ask your branch if you don't have it).
List the month's invoices
One row per invoice in Part 2B. One EDF can cover every client you billed that month.
Answer the declaration
I/We, who pays, received or to be received, currency. We strike out the words that don't apply for you.
Download and submit
Download the PDF or Word file, sign it and submit it to your bank within 30 days of month end.
EDF for RBL Bank: how to fill and submit it
If foreign payments for your services land in an RBL Bank account, RBL Bank is normally your AD bank, and that is where your monthly EDF goes. File it within 30 days from the end of the month in which you raised the invoices, using the channel RBL Bank specifies in its published EDF policy — your branch or relationship manager can confirm which one applies to you.
Key takeaways
- RBL Bank, like every AD bank, must publish its own policy on how it accepts EDFs, so ask your branch or RM for the current channel rather than guessing.
- Get the AD code for your RBL Bank branch before you fill the form. It is not your IFSC or SWIFT code.
- One EDF per month can cover every service invoice to every foreign client, one row per invoice in Part 2B.
- After you submit, RBL Bank should enter the EDF into EDPMS within 5 working days. Follow up if you don't hear back.
Before your first RBL Bank EDF
The first month is the slowest because you're collecting fixed details. Do this once and every later month gets quicker.
| What you need | Where to get it | EDF field |
|---|---|---|
| AD code for your RBL Bank branch | Ask the branch in writing | 1.6 |
| RBL Bank branch name and address | Your account documents or the branch | 1.10 |
| IEC (if you have one) | DGFT records | 1.7 |
| GSTIN and PAN | Your registrations | 1.8, 1.9 |
| Exporter name and address | As per your bank KYC | 1.11 |
| Authorised signatory | Board resolution or partner authority | Part 4 |
Getting the AD code
The AD code identifies the bank branch for export transactions. Branches handling foreign exchange business have one. Not every branch does, which is why you ask in writing. A short letter to your branch, such as our AD code request letter, gets you a written answer you can keep on file.
If your RBL Bank branch doesn't handle export business itself, the bank will tell you which branch or desk does. Use that branch's AD code on the EDF.
How to submit: confirm the channel first
Under the 2026 Regulations, each bank publishes its own process for accepting EDFs. Depending on the bank, that can mean handing in a signed copy at the branch, emailing a scanned copy to a trade desk, or uploading through a net-banking trade portal. We won't guess RBL Bank's exact route because it may differ by customer segment and can change.
Ask your RM or branch three questions:
- Which channel should I use — branch, email or portal?
- Do you want a signed physical copy, a signed scan, or both?
- Do you want supporting invoices attached, or only on request?
Write down the answers in your EDF register. If the process changes later, you'll know what you were told and when.
Filling the form for RBL Bank
The EDF itself is the same for every bank — it's the form in the Annex to the FEMA (Export and Import of Goods and Services) Regulations, 2026. A services exporter typically fills:
- 1.1 Type of export: Services (or Software).
- 1.4 Mode of delivery: Internet, for work delivered online.
- 1.5 Category of exporter: usually Others for a regular business outside an SEZ.
- 1.12 Mode of realisation: Others, for direct bank transfers.
- Part 2B: one row per invoice with recipient, country, invoice number and date, currency, amount, NRV, description, SAC code, contract details and remarks.
- Part 4: strike out the alternatives that don't apply, then sign and date.
Our RBL Bank EDF form lets you fill these fields and keeps the bank details in place for next month.
Worked example: a Mumbai agency's November EDF
Tidewater Creative LLP banks with RBL Bank in Mumbai. In November 2026 it raises three invoices:
| Invoice | Client country | Currency | Amount | Approx. INR |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TC/0211 | USA | USD | 7,400 | ₹6,21,600 |
| TC/0212 | UAE | AED | 15,000 | ₹3,43,500 |
| TC/0213 | Singapore | SGD | 5,200 | ₹3,32,800 |
Tidewater fills one EDF with three Part 2B rows, totals the rupee value in 1.22 (₹12,97,900, in figures and words), and submits through the channel its RM confirmed. The deadline is 30 December 2026.
All three invoices are under ₹10 lakh each. When they're paid, Tidewater can ask RBL Bank to close the EDPMS entries on a declaration of realisation instead of sending each FIRA — a declaration that is separate from the EDF and can be given periodically.
What to attach
Banks set their own requirements, so treat this as a sensible default and adjust when RBL Bank tells you otherwise:
- The signed EDF.
- A short covering letter listing the month, number of invoices and total value. Our EDF cover letter is ready to adapt.
- Copies of the invoices, if requested.
- For invoices above ₹10 lakh that have already been paid: invoice, FIRA or bank advice, and matching instructions.
After you submit: follow-up
The bank must enter your EDF into EDPMS within 5 working days of receiving it. A simple follow-up rhythm:
- Day 0: submit; note the date, channel and any acknowledgement or reference number.
- Day 5–7 (working days): if you've had no confirmation, email your RM with the submission date and month.
- On payment: check the FIRA from RBL Bank — remitter name, amount, purpose code. Our guide to getting a FIRA or FIRC from RBL Bank covers what to look for.
This is general information, not legal or tax advice. RBL Bank's own published policy governs how it accepts EDFs.
Frequently asked questions
Is RBL Bank my AD bank for the EDF?
If your foreign payments are received in your RBL Bank account and RBL Bank handles your export transactions, it is normally your AD bank. If you receive export money in more than one bank, discuss with each which one should get the EDF for which invoices.
Can I email the EDF to RBL Bank?
That depends on RBL Bank's published EDF policy and what your branch or RM tells you. Some banks accept emailed scans, some want physical copies, and some use a portal. Ask before your first filing.
What is the AD code for my RBL Bank branch?
The AD code is specific to the branch that handles your export business. Only RBL Bank can give it to you — ask the branch in writing, and record the code in your EDF register.
What if I miss the deadline with RBL Bank?
The AD bank may accept a delayed EDF for a reasonable cause. Submit as soon as you can with a short explanation of the delay, and keep a copy of what you sent.
Do I still need FIRAs from RBL Bank for small invoices?
For invoices up to ₹10 lakh, the bank may close the EDPMS entry on your declaration of realisation. You should still keep the FIRA for each payment for your own GST and tax records.
Bottom line
Confirm RBL Bank's channel, get the branch AD code in writing, and file one EDF a month with every invoice as a row. Start with the free RBL Bank EDF form to prepare a clean, complete declaration.

EDF form FAQs
What is the EDF form?
The Export Declaration Form (EDF) is the form in the Annex to RBI's Foreign Exchange Management (Export and Import of Goods and Services) Regulations, 2026. From 1 October 2026, exporters of services declare the full export value on it to their AD bank (or STPI for software, or the SEZ Development Commissioner for SEZ units).
When is the EDF due?
Within 30 days from the end of the month in which the invoice was raised. October 2026 invoices are due by 30 November 2026. For services other than software, you may instead submit on or before the date you receive payment.
Can one EDF cover several clients?
Yes. One EDF can cover all your service exports in a month to one or more recipients. Each invoice gets its own row in Part 2B.
Which parts does a service exporter fill?
Part 1 (general information), Part 2B (services table) and Part 4 (declaration). Part 2A is for goods and Part 3 is for post/courier exports, so service exporters usually leave them blank. Part 5 is for the bank.
Do individual freelancers have to file the EDF?
On 7 October 2026, RBI said individuals providing services abroad are not covered by the reporting requirement and that FAQs will follow. The Regulations' text hasn't changed yet, so check with your bank. Proprietorships, firms, LLPs and companies should assume they are covered.
By when must I get paid?
Within nine months of the invoice date for services, or twelve months if the invoice is in Indian rupees. Your AD bank can extend this on a reasoned request.
What is the AD code and where do I get it?
The AD code identifies the bank branch that handles your export transactions. It is not the IFSC or SWIFT code. Ask your branch or relationship manager — our AD code request letter makes it easy.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Without an account, everything stays in your browser. If you create a free account, your business details and saved EDFs are stored so you can reopen them on any device.
Does the EDF change my GST or income tax?
No. The EDF is a FEMA declaration to your bank. GST (LUT, zero-rated supply) and income tax rules apply separately.
