How it works

File your Yes Bank EDF in five steps

Most exporters finish in under five minutes. Next month it's faster — your business and bank details are already filled.

  1. Enter your business once

Name, address, PAN, GSTIN, IE code and exporter category. It's remembered on this device — or in your free account.

  2. Add your bank

Pick your AD bank and branch and enter the AD code (ask your branch if you don't have it).

  3. List the month's invoices

One row per invoice in Part 2B. One EDF can cover every client you billed that month.

  4. Answer the declaration

I/We, who pays, received or to be received, currency. We strike out the words that don't apply for you.

  5. Download and submit

Download the PDF or Word file, sign it and submit it to your bank within 30 days of month end.

EDF for Yes Bank: how to fill and submit it

If your foreign client payments land in a Yes Bank current account, Yes Bank is your AD bank and the EDF for those invoices goes to it. The form itself is the standard RBI Annex form that every bank uses; what is specific to Yes Bank is its published policy on how it accepts EDFs, so the first step is to ask your relationship manager or branch which channel to use and to get the branch's AD code in writing.

Key takeaways

  • The EDF goes to the bank where the export money lands. If that is Yes Bank, file with Yes Bank.
  • The form is the same for every bank. Only the submission channel and covering formalities differ.
  • Ask your RM or branch for three things: the AD code, the accepted channel and the format of acknowledgement.
  • File within 30 days from the end of the invoice month, one EDF covering all that month's invoices.
  • Keep the FIRA or bank advice from Yes Bank for every remittance; you will need it to close larger EDPMS entries.

Who files with Yes Bank

Yes Bank, like other AD Category-I banks, acts as the authority that receives EDFs for services exported by its customers outside an SEZ. For software exports, you can choose between your AD bank and STPI, since AD banks are now specified authorities on par with STPI. SEZ units file with their Development Commissioner instead.

If you hold accounts at Yes Bank and at another bank, the EDF for each invoice goes to whichever bank receives that invoice's payment. Do not split a single month across banks arbitrarily; match each invoice to the account named on it.

Before you start: what to have ready

Item Where to get it Why you need it
AD code of your Yes Bank branch Ask your RM or branch in writing Field 1.6 of the EDF
IEC (if you have one) DGFT Field 1.7
GSTIN and PAN Your records Fields 1.8 and 1.9
All export invoices dated in the month Your accounting system One Part 2B row each
Contract or SOW references Client agreements Part 2B contract column
Authorised signatory details Board resolution / bank mandate Part 4 signature must match bank records

If you do not yet have the AD code, use our AD code request letter and send it to the branch on your letterhead.

Confirming the submission channel

Every bank must publish its own policy on accepting EDFs, and that is the document that tells you whether Yes Bank wants your EDF at the branch, through an email channel, or through an online trade facility. We do not reproduce menu paths or email addresses here, because they change and a wrong one costs you time.

Ask your RM these questions once, and save the reply:

  1. Which channel should we use for monthly service EDFs: branch, email or online?
  2. Do you need a covering letter, and should it be on letterhead with a seal?
  3. Will you share an acknowledgement or reference number after recording the EDF?
  4. Do you accept periodic declarations for invoices up to ₹10 lakh, and in what format?
  5. If a remittance arrives before we have filed the EDF, will you hold the credit?

If you are a newer customer and the branch is unsure, ask them to check with the bank's trade services team.

Filling the form for Yes Bank

Our Yes Bank EDF form pre-fills the bank name so you only enter your own details. The essentials:

  • 1.1 Type of export: Services, or Software if you export software.
  • 1.4 Mode of delivery: Internet for online delivery.
  • 1.6 AD code: the code the branch gave you, not the IFSC.
  • 1.10 AD bank name and address: Yes Bank and your branch address.
  • 1.12 Mode of realisation: Others for direct transfers and advances.
  • 1.22 Total value: the rupee sum of all Part 2B rows, in figures and words.
  • Part 2B: one row per invoice with currency, amount, NRV, SAC code and contract reference.
  • Part 4: strike out the alternatives that do not apply, then sign.

A worked example

Corvid Media Pvt Ltd, a Mumbai post-production house, banks with Yes Bank. In December 2026 it raised three invoices:

Invoice Client Country Amount Approx. INR
CM/26/301 Lantern Films LLC USA USD 9,500 ₹7,98,000
CM/26/302 Eastlake Studios Ltd UK GBP 3,800 ₹4,18,000
CM/26/303 Lantern Films LLC USA USD 4,200 ₹3,52,800

All three go on one EDF for December, due 30 January 2027. Field 1.22 shows ₹15,68,800, using the illustrative rates Corvid applies consistently and notes in its working file. Each invoice is under ₹10 lakh, so once paid, Corvid can cover them through a quarterly realisation declaration rather than sending invoice-by-invoice evidence, if Yes Bank accepts declarations in that form.

Corvid's accounts head prepared the form, the director signed it, and they submitted it through the channel the RM had confirmed in October, with a one-page cover letter.

What to attach

Banks set their own requirements, so treat this as a starting list and adjust it to what Yes Bank asks for:

  • The signed EDF.
  • A covering letter listing the month, number of invoices and total value. Our EDF cover letter is a ready format.
  • Copies of invoices, if the bank asks for them with the EDF rather than at realisation.

Do not attach FIRAs to the EDF unless asked; they belong to the realisation and matching step.

After you submit

The bank must enter your EDF into EDPMS within 5 working days. A week after filing, it is reasonable to ask whether the form has been recorded and to note any reference number in your EDF register.

When each payment arrives, Yes Bank issues a FIRA, FIRC or advice showing the amount and purpose code. Check the purpose code matches your service. Our guide on getting FIRA or FIRC from Yes Bank explains what to look for. This is general information, not legal or tax advice.

Frequently asked questions

Can I submit the EDF at any Yes Bank branch?

Submit it through the channel your own branch or RM confirms. The EDF is tied to the AD code of the branch handling your export account, so sending it elsewhere can cause delays. Ask your RM if you are unsure.

Is there a special Yes Bank version of the EDF?

No. The EDF is the form in the Annex to the FEMA Export and Import Regulations, 2026, and every bank receives the same form. Yes Bank may ask for a covering letter or specific submission format under its published policy.

What if my Yes Bank remittance is held because the EDF is missing?

Banks may hold an inward credit until the EDF is provided. File the EDF for that month promptly, tell your RM the reference of the held remittance, and ask for it to be released. Our remittance release request letter can help.

Do I need to file with Yes Bank if I am a freelancer?

RBI said on 7 October 2026 that individuals providing services abroad are not required to report, and FAQs are expected. The Regulations have not yet been amended. Individuals should check with Yes Bank; proprietorships, firms, LLPs and companies should assume they are covered.

When is my Yes Bank EDF due?

Within 30 days from the end of the month in which the invoices were raised. For example, October 2026 invoices are due by 30 November 2026. Check the full table on our EDF due dates page.

Bottom line

For Yes Bank customers, the work is the same as at any bank: one clean EDF a month, filed through the channel your RM confirms. Prepare it in minutes with our free Yes Bank EDF form, add a cover letter, and log the acknowledgement when it comes back.

Questions

EDF form FAQs

What is the EDF form?

The Export Declaration Form (EDF) is the form in the Annex to RBI's Foreign Exchange Management (Export and Import of Goods and Services) Regulations, 2026. From 1 October 2026, exporters of services declare the full export value on it to their AD bank (or STPI for software, or the SEZ Development Commissioner for SEZ units).

When is the EDF due?

Within 30 days from the end of the month in which the invoice was raised. October 2026 invoices are due by 30 November 2026. For services other than software, you may instead submit on or before the date you receive payment.

Can one EDF cover several clients?

Yes. One EDF can cover all your service exports in a month to one or more recipients. Each invoice gets its own row in Part 2B.

Which parts does a service exporter fill?

Part 1 (general information), Part 2B (services table) and Part 4 (declaration). Part 2A is for goods and Part 3 is for post/courier exports, so service exporters usually leave them blank. Part 5 is for the bank.

Do individual freelancers have to file the EDF?

On 7 October 2026, RBI said individuals providing services abroad are not covered by the reporting requirement and that FAQs will follow. The Regulations' text hasn't changed yet, so check with your bank. Proprietorships, firms, LLPs and companies should assume they are covered.

By when must I get paid?

Within nine months of the invoice date for services, or twelve months if the invoice is in Indian rupees. Your AD bank can extend this on a reasoned request.

What is the AD code and where do I get it?

The AD code identifies the bank branch that handles your export transactions. It is not the IFSC or SWIFT code. Ask your branch or relationship manager — our AD code request letter makes it easy.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. Without an account, everything stays in your browser. If you create a free account, your business details and saved EDFs are stored so you can reopen them on any device.

Does the EDF change my GST or income tax?

No. The EDF is a FEMA declaration to your bank. GST (LUT, zero-rated supply) and income tax rules apply separately.
