Fiverr earnings reach India in two hops: the buyer pays Fiverr, then you withdraw your balance through one of the withdrawal methods Fiverr offers for India, and the money finally lands in an Indian bank account. For EDF purposes, your AD bank is the Indian bank where that withdrawal is credited, and the realisation evidence is whatever that bank issues for the credit. If you sell on Fiverr as a business, the EDF lists your export invoices for the month; as an individual, RBI's 7 October 2026 statement suggests reporting is not required, pending FAQs.
Key takeaways
- Fiverr's withdrawal options and fee structure change from time to time. Check Fiverr's current India help pages rather than relying on old forum posts.
- The AD bank is the Indian bank where the money is finally credited, not the platform or an intermediary wallet.
- Fiverr orders do not automatically equal EDF rows. Many sellers raise a monthly invoice or statement and declare that.
- Platform fees deducted from your earnings create a gap between gross order value and what you receive. Decide how you show that, and agree it with your bank and CA.
- Agencies and businesses selling on Fiverr should assume the EDF applies. Individuals should check with their bank until RBI's FAQs arrive.
How the money travels
The path matters because each hop changes what your bank can see.
| Stage | What happens | What you can document |
|---|---|---|
| Buyer places an order | Buyer pays Fiverr | Order ID, buyer username, order value |
| Order completes and clears | Your earnings become available on Fiverr | Fiverr earnings statement |
| You withdraw | Funds move via your chosen withdrawal method | Withdrawal record from Fiverr and the method used |
| Credit in India | Your Indian bank receives the money | FIRA or bank advice from the receiving bank |
If you withdraw through an intermediary account or wallet, that service then pays out to your Indian bank. The Indian bank still issues the documentation for the final credit. Our guides on getting paid through Payoneer and PayPal cover those legs.
Individual or business?
If you are a solo seller on Fiverr working under your own name, RBI said on 7 October 2026 that individuals providing services abroad are not required to report, and that FAQs would follow. The Regulations' text has not changed yet, so ask your bank whether it expects anything from you.
If your Fiverr account belongs to an agency, a proprietorship trading under a business name, an LLP or a company, assume you are covered and file a monthly EDF. Our guide for Upwork and Fiverr agencies is written for that case.
Turning orders into EDF rows
The EDF has one row per invoice. Fiverr orders are not invoices you raised in the usual sense, and a busy seller may complete eighty small orders a month. Two practical approaches:
Approach A: one invoice per withdrawal or per month. You raise an invoice (or a statement-style invoice) covering the orders completed in a period, and that invoice becomes one Part 2B row. Who you name as the recipient, the platform or the individual buyers, is a question to settle with your CA and bank, because platform arrangements differ.
Approach B: one invoice per order. Possible, but it generates huge EDFs and is hard to match against lump-sum withdrawals.
Most businesses choose Approach A, keeping the Fiverr order list as the annexure behind each invoice.
Fees and NRV: a worked example
Pixelwharf Creative LLP, Ahmedabad, sells logo and brand packages on Fiverr. In November 2026 it completes orders with a gross value of USD 6,800. Fiverr's seller fees, under its terms at the time, reduce the earnings Pixelwharf can withdraw. Pixelwharf withdraws USD 5,300 in two tranches, and its bank credits the rupee equivalent after its own conversion.
| Figure | Amount | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Gross order value | USD 6,800 | Fiverr order list |
| Platform fees (illustrative) | USD 1,360 | Fiverr earnings statement |
| Net earnings available | USD 5,440 | Fiverr earnings statement |
| Withdrawn in November | USD 5,300 | Fiverr withdrawal records |
| Balance left on platform | USD 140 | Fiverr balance |
Pixelwharf raises one monthly invoice, PWC/26/N-01, for its November Fiverr sales. On the EDF, it shows the invoice amount and, in the NRV column, the amount it actually expects to realise after the platform's deductions, with a remark such as "Net of Fiverr service fees per earnings statement". Whether to invoice gross or net, and how to describe the fee, should be agreed with your CA, because it also affects GST and income-tax records. Our guide to net realisable value explains the principle.
The November EDF is due by 30 December 2026.
Getting FIRA or payment advice
Your Indian bank issues the documentation for the final credit. Ask it:
- Will it issue a FIRA or only a credit advice for this kind of payout?
- Which purpose code does it apply, and can it reflect your actual service (for example design or software)?
- Can it show the remitter details clearly enough to link the credit to Fiverr?
Keep Fiverr's withdrawal record beside each FIRA. When the bank later matches realisation in EDPMS, the pair tells the whole story. For invoices up to ₹10 lakh, the bank may close entries on your periodic realisation declaration.
GST reminders
Export of services is zero-rated when the Section 2(6) IGST Act conditions are met. Platform sales raise questions about who the recipient is and where they are located, so take your CA's view on whether your Fiverr sales qualify and how to invoice them. If you export under LUT, add "Supply meant for export under LUT without payment of IGST" to your invoices. The EDF does not change GST or income tax. This is general information, not legal or tax advice.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to file an EDF for Fiverr income?
Businesses selling on Fiverr, such as agencies, LLPs and companies, should assume yes and file monthly. Individual sellers fall within RBI's 7 October 2026 statement that individuals providing services abroad need not report, pending FAQs. Check with your bank.
Which bank is my AD bank for Fiverr payments?
The Indian bank where your Fiverr withdrawal is finally credited. If you withdraw through an intermediary account, the AD bank is still the Indian bank that receives the payout and issues the FIRA or advice.
Should I list every Fiverr order on the EDF?
The EDF has one row per invoice, not per order. Many sellers raise a monthly invoice covering their completed orders and declare that invoice, keeping the order list as supporting detail. Agree the approach with your CA and bank.
How do I handle Fiverr's fees on the EDF?
Show the invoice amount and, in the NRV column, the amount you expect to actually realise after the platform's deductions, with a remark explaining them. Keep the Fiverr earnings statement as evidence.
Can I get a FIRC for Fiverr withdrawals?
Ask the Indian bank that receives the withdrawal. Depending on how the payout arrives, the bank may issue a FIRA, FIRC or a credit advice. Check the purpose code on whichever document it provides.
Bottom line
On Fiverr, the paper trail runs from order list to earnings statement to withdrawal record to bank FIRA. Keep all four together and the EDF is easy. Raise your monthly invoice with the free export invoice generator, then prepare the declaration with the EDF form generator.
